About the Business
I joined Field Photographic as a wee lad on a two-year training scheme in 1989 just a year after it was established, and never left! Back then, professional photography was a very different and demanding discipline. I gained a City & Guilds qualification in photography and very shortly afterwards was awarded Litentiateship of the British Institute of Professional Photography. I've simply always had the photography bug. Even as a kid, I never liked the books ‘with words in' half as much as the books with pictures.
I progressed through to managing the studio in the 1990's, gained a Licentiateship membership of the Master Photographer's Association, and eventually took over the business in 2000 just before I got married, had one inventive and industrious child, and several cats. Just after 2000 Merv Spencer joined us as a wedding photographer, and just like me, never left!
