About the Business
After steadily carving 'DarkLens' into a photographic trademark over the past ten years, Darren Key has climbed from entrepreneur to successful businessman through the medium of visual art. After dipping his toes in a large array of creative pools, Mr Key's work has been recognised by the likes of 'KRASH, ' 'Bizarre, ' 'Kerrang!' and 'NME, ' to name a few. As well as pursuing his early roots as a live events photographer, Darren has branched out into ventures such as his Disaster Modelling Agency, which saw the birth of some of the Midland's most familiar and successful alternative models.
His early works explored a range of controversial topics which were loved, hated and in some cases imitated by the competition. His 'Diaries of the Dead' catalogue pinpointed his fearless approach to the 'striking' element of photography. This love-me-or-hate-me-approach paid off with the likes of Punk Girls, Suicide Girls and many more companies in the alternative scene.
